- Filtration, either taking place with a HEPA filter i.e., physically removing viruses and bacteria besides bigger particles as well, or with a regular filter just removing dust/pollen and using ozone to klill viruses/bacteria.
- Ionisation; the process by which an atom or a molecule acquires a negative or positive charge by gaining or losing electrons. The resulting electrically charged atom or molecule is called an ion.They bond together resulting in the formation of ion pairs, getting heavy and stop floating in the air.
- Ozonisation with the addition of Odogard dispels odours. Drinking water is in most cases disinfected with ozone by your water supplier, as an alternative to chlorine. How Can You Best Improve the Air Quality in Your Home or Office?

The best way to improve air quality, certainly in well-insulated homes and buildings, is to ventilate frequently. If not, pollutants, odours and CO2 levels will rise as the day goes on, causing drowsiness and, in the worst case, making you feel ill. But:
- In harsher climates or in fall or winter one does not open up windows, certainly not with the current energy prices;
- In big city locations or industrial areas with a high degree of pollution outside, it would be wiser NOT to open a window; 
- Your age and pre-existing medical conditions, such as allergies (due to pollen i.e.), are also of an important influence;
- If the moisture level in your home or building is too high, bacteria and moulds will grow abundantly, often in places you don’t regularly look, such as basements, closets or crawl spaces underneath floor boards. These mould spores are ‘silent kilers’ and can make you very sick (i.e. asthma flare-ups, fungal sinusitis, or pneumonitis).

MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values and report a filter's ability to capture larger particles between 0.3 and 10 microns (µm). 
- This value is helpful in comparing the performance of different filters;

- The rating is derived from a test method developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) [see www.ashrae.org];

- The higher the MERV rating the better the filter is at trapping specific types of particles;

- The GreenTech HEPA + Odogard i.e. has a MERV rating of 9.

HEPA is a type of pleated mechanical air filter. It is an acronym for “High Efficiency Particulate Air [filter]" (as officially defined by the U.S. Dept. of Energy). 
- This type of air filter can theoretically remove at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns (µm). The diameter specification of 0.3 microns responds to the worst case; the most penetrating particle size (MPPS). Particles that are larger or smaller are trapped with even higher efficiency. Using the worst case particle size results in the worst case efficiency rating (i.e. 99.97% or better for all particle sizes).

What Are Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's)?

VOC’s or Volatile Organic Compounds have a high vapor pressure and low water solubility. 
- Many are human-made chemicals that are used and produced in the manufacture of paints and lacquers, cleaning supplies, disinfectants, cosmetics, degreasing fluids, hobby products, paint strippers, pesticides, building materials and furnishings, office equipment such as copiers and printers, correction fluids and carbonless copy paper, graphics and craft materials including glues and adhesives, permanent markers, and photographic solutions.
- VOC's typically are also all industrial solvents, such as trichloroethylene; fuel oxygenates, such as methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE); or by-products produced by chlorination in water treatment, such as chloroform. 
- VOC's are also common ground-water contaminants.
- Concentrations of many VOC's are consistently higher indoors (up to ten times higher) than outdoors.

I hear about ozone alerts and air quality, what is a safe level of exposure?
When used in accordance with the owner’s manual, GreenTech Environmental’s products do not create an indoor environment that exceeds 0.05ppm (parts per million), which is the same level the FDA in the US requires for indoor medical devices.
When there is is an abnormally high level of pollution (after an indoor fire for example) or other sources create ozone (O3)sometimes a high level of ozone is required. all Greentech units have an automatic cut-of if ozone levels exceed the standard.
